Good and Bad Day

Today was really good in the fact that I had a 4 friends stop by and check on me today. For the past few days someone has brought me lunch and had lunch with me to keep me company. It is nice not to have to make lunch for myself. I love hanging out with these friends and talking to them. It does me good since I can't leave my house.
Also the medical supply company gave me a new wheelchair today to replace the wheelchair that broke yesterday.

The bad part about today is that I ran out of pain pills and called the Dr. for more and he gave me something different that doesn't seem to working as effectively. Then I had physical therapy. Which I was slightly embarrassed that I had to go back and my range of motion is hardly anything and the few things he did to me today were very painful. Then I just remembered all the mean things that have been said to me the past couple of days that make me upset and made me equally upset today.

So here is a list of some mean things that have been said to me since my accident:

  1. You are so lucky to have a broken leg so you don't have to do anything.
  2. It will be like a second honeymoon for you with your kids gone.
  3. You must really like being on crutches.
  4. I had no idea you were so clumsy.

But the most horrible thing is:
Obviously you have a bum leg. You should just get it amputated!!!!

Okay so now that I have it out of my system. I can stop thinking about it. I honestly believe that these people are not trying to be mean or hurtful. I also will acknowledge that I am extra sensitive, and that I cry often right now. But like my husband says I deserve to cry and cry whenever I want.

Gone Fishing

We went fishing yesterday morning. Everybody caught fish. Zach caught a bass! The rest were bluegill and small sunfish. It was a lot of fun!!!

More Fun in WV

Devin has discovered the thrill of running around in just a diaper (or nothing at all)... Maybe he'd already discovered that, but he's really getting into the spirit of it here. He's been seeing some of the bigger boys going potty on the trees in behind mom's house. He has been trying really hard to make that work - so far without success. But he likes the freedom of running around naked - or just in a diaper. and it's been so humid, that sometimes we just let him. It keeps him cooler and his clothes cleaner! :O)
The kids practiced sack racing yesterday. They all do really good at it. Garrett didn't want to try it, but the other three could hop all over the place! Devin tried it, too, but it was a little hard because the sack was so big.
Devin really loves Spike. Spike can be hornery but Devin doesn't mind it. And sometimes, when you need a hug -- Spike is there. :O)

New Addition

Well, we finally got rid of my car. We bought the Ford Escort 11 years ago and although it was really reliable it has been struggling a lot lately. The engine light was always on. We took it to two repair shops and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. It would die at red lights and struggled to accelerate most of the time. We figured we could put a ton of money into it to make it last a little longer or just get something new. Well we spent a month looking around and last night we went out and bought this beauty:

It's a used 2010 Kia Sportage with 8,000 miles on it. Now I can drive to work without worrying about needing someone to tow me home!

Devin can be a "little" stubborn, and has not been keen on talking on the phone or via computer with us since he got here, but tonight he finally decided that he'd talk on the phone. He did really well, and we were thrilled to finally talk to him.

The kids have been begging for s'mores since the they arrived! They wanted to have S'mores every night, but we decided against that! We cooked hotdogs over the fire for dinner, and S'mores for dessert. This was Devin's first experience with roasting anything. He had a hard time keeping stuff up out of the fire!

Garrett had lost a tooth just before coming to WV. He hid his tooth because Olivia told him that the tooth fairy in WV pays more than the one in UT. I think maybe Grandpa might be helping out the tooth fairy! So, Garrett saved his tooth til he got to WV and got $2.01 for his trouble. Then last night, he lost another tooth and the tooth fairy brought $2.02. I wonder how many teeth Garrett will have left when he goes home?
Josh's favorite part of summer is all the "critters" he finds. He finds frogs, turtles, bugs, etc... Today, he found the biggest and ugliest salamander I've ever seen. This thing was HUGE, red, slimy, and gross. The kids handled it with no problems, but it made me ill to look at the thing! This critter was not a "keeper"!

Day 1 in WV

My sister took several pictures of the kids today. They are having such a great time. I talked to them several times today.

Gone to West Virginia

So Yesterday around 11:00am, my mom took my 3 kids on an airplane to WV with her. She dressed them all in red shirts so she could easily spot them. She is brave to take 3 young kids on an airplane by herself. I don't even like doing that. She did this to help me out so that I could recover and that my kids would have an awesome summer with their cousins. I will miss them. But I also know that at this time I could not have taken very good care of them. My sister has promised to take lots of pictures and update her blog tons so that we can see what they are up too. Plus we are planning on using Skype everyday to talk to each other. I was brave and held it together and smiled while they left then after the door was shut I let the tears flow. They will come back July 19th.

Garrett Lost A Tooth

Garrett was so excited to find out that he had 2 wiggly teeth. He has been wondering when he would lose a tooth. Since they were going to go to WV soon, Olivia told Garrett that in WV the tooth fairy brings more money than here because in WV she lost a tooth and got 2 dollars. So Garrett wanted to lose his tooth in WV. Well it just fell out the day before they were to leave. He still wanted the tooth fairy to come in WV so instead of putting his tooth under his pillow he hid it so the tooth fairy couldn't find it. He took the tooth back with him in his carry on and is anxiously awaiting for the tooth fairy to come.
