Food storage

We used some of our tax refund to get some more food storage. We had several boxes get shipped to our house.

The kids knew immediately what to do with the boxes, climb them, hide in them, and turn them in to trains. Ahh..the magic of a box.

Sunflowers

When we went to Hee Haws over spring break the kids planted sunflower seeds. We got home and I didn't think much about the seeds again. The kids brought these up the other day. Apparently they kept the seeds and took care of them. When it gets a little warmer we will plant them outside.

Easter Dress

Thanks Em for the beautiful dress and all the other clothes that you sent.

What do you think Em could they be twins?

Coloring eggs

Before the egg hunt we colored eggs. Each kid got to color six eggs. Jen came and brought Chima's kids to do Easter activities with us.

Here are all the kids: Olivia, Devin, Garrett, Jasmine, Victor, and Hector.

Easter egg hunt

We had a neighborhood easter egg hunt yesterday. We have done this the. Last couple of years. We had 22 people at our house hunting eggs. it was a lot of fun. Afterward all the kids opened their eggs to see all their treats. One neighbor bought fun dip but they wouldn't fit in the eggs so Jeremy opened the window in the kitchen and started throwing them down to the kids. They were all yelling and screaming trying to get the fun dip.

After the neighbor Easter eggs hunt we did a small one in the house with just our kids. This time instead of the eggs being filled with candy we filled them full of change. The kids loved getting money.

If you give a Yoshi some chocolate

If you give a Yoshi some chocolate
He will want some frosting.
When you give him the frosting
That will remind him about Grandma’s Marshmallows
So he will ask for some Marshmallows.
After he eats the marshmallows he want a bath
When he gets in the bathtub
He will want some soap
When I give him the soap
The tub will overflow.
The End
by Garrett

*Garrett wrote this story all by himself.  I just typed what he wrote and fixed the spelling.  If you know Garrett he loves Mario and anything to do with Mario like Yoshi.  He even talks like Yoshi half the time.   My favorite part is is reference to making s'mores at my Mom and Dad's house.

Where are the Cookies?

Yesterday, after I picked up the kids from school.  As soon as Garrett walks in the door he starts searching for something.  He is looking in the kitchen, in my bedroom, in Devin's bedroom.  I finally ask him, "Garrett what are you looking for?"

He replied, "Where are the cookies?"

I said, "What Cookies?"

"You know the ones you made!"

"I didn't make any cookies."

"Yes you did, where are the cookies?

"I didn't make any cookies."

"Yes you did, It is Monday and you make cookies on Mondays because you don't work."

"Honey, I didn't make cookies."

He looked so sad that I didn't make cookies and have them waiting for him when he got home.  I have made cookies on Mondays in the past.

Then when Jeremy got home he asked "Did you make cookies?"

Matching Brothers

I told the the boys to go and get dressed.  Without any prompting from me they both choose to wear the same shirt.  When they realized they were matching they wanted their picture taken.  Then for about 10 minutes they played nicely together.

Living Room Picnic

Over spring break we kept saying we were going to go on a picnic but the weather always seemed to be a little too cold or windy at lunch time.  So we had a picnic in the living room.  It was the kids idea.  They packed the lunches and set it all up.  They love having picnics in the living room.

Making Money

The kids are trying to earn money right now. They have been doing extra chores.  But that doesn't earn them a lot of money. So over Spring Break they came up with the idea to have a lemonade stand. That idea turned into having a yard sale and a lemonade stand. That idea turned out to having a yard sale, a lemonade stand, and going door-to-door selling cookies.  They made the signs,  gathered all the stuff, they put the stickers on everything.  They would stand and wave signs as people went by trying to get them to stop, and they went door to door selling cookies.  They did a lot of work and made a pretty good profit, $43.22. The money was evenly split between the two of them.

Devin's idea of helping was to play with the things in yard sale.

It was cute watching them dance with their signs.
The doll house was one of the things that Olivia wanted to put in the yard sale.  But Olivia and Devin had a lot of fun playing with it so we decided to hold on to it.

Swimming and Mining

We went to Herriman the past couple of days. On Thursday we went to the new rec center there to go swimming. It has a water slide, lazy river, big water toy, diving boards. We decided to try someplace new and we are glad we found this place. Thanks Marianne for telling us about it.  It was a lot of fun.

Then today we back to go to the Kennecot Copper Mine. It is one of the biggest open pit copper mines.
This is a tire of one their big trucks.

Devin kept hugging this rock

This is the copper mine.

I think the kids liked it and I know Jeremy loved telling them all about the mine.

Late Night

Wednesday's spring break activity included taking Olivia to the dentist to get two teeth pulled. I went out to lunch and got a pedicure with Marianne for her birthday. Since the kids didn't really do anything fun we decided they could invite a friend over and let to watch a movie, play the Wii, and eat snacks. The girls watched Tangled and the boys watched Mario.  Our idea of a late night is to go home at
9 pm.
It is cute that the girls are wearing matching pajamas and the boys are both wearing Mario and Lugi pajamas.

Hee Haw

Today for our Spring Break Daily Activity we went to Hee Haw's Farm for their Spring Fling.
Garrett the Goat, Jennifer the Sheep, Livvy the Horse, Jeremy the Cow, and Devin the Pig.

Playing on the Hay Slide

Petting and Feeding the animals was a favorite for all of the kids.

Pony Rides were a lot of fun.  Garrett went twice.

Going on a Hayride.

The weather was perfect.  It was overcast and cloudy but it wasn't cold and it wasn't hot.  Glad we decided to go to outside activity today.  And What better way to spend a spring day than with baby animals. Afterward we went to Sonic for their Happy Hour half price slushies. A perfect way to end the day.

Candy, Ducks, and Fish

Today's Adventures for Spring Break included going to:

Sweets Candy Factory
We went to the Candy Factory and took a tour and they showed us the different ways that they make candy.  Then they gave samples along the way.   We got to wear these really cool hats.  I asked the kids afterward about their favorite part.  Livvy said her favorite part was watching them make the taffy.  Garrett said his favorite part was buying candy in the store afterward. Devin said his favorite part was eating the candy.    The tour was free!

IFA STORE

They are super cute!

After lunch we went to the local IFA Store.  The kids loved seeing the baby chicks, bunnies, and ducks.  They all wanted one.  Devin really love petting the ducks.  He didn't want to leave.  Seeing the baby animals also free but Jeremy did buy some things for our lawn.

Cabella's

Our last stop was Cabellas where we got to go and look at the fish.  All of these types of fish are found in Utah.  Devin is so cute.  He kept saying "Hi Fish"  I think he wanted to pet them too.  This was also a free activity.

When we got home Devin was ready for a nap and the other two played outside.  It was a fun day.
