Crazy Cute Devin

He loves to lick his plate after dinner. Actually this is is favorite way to eat.

Devin was trying to do a flip like the other kids. He actually got all the way over a couple of times. But the cutest thing was when he was finished he would scream "I did it! I did it!"

He has also recently discovered play dough. He loves to play with it and he says "Cut it, cut it" So I get him a butter knife that he can use. He will play with this stuff for a long time.

Here he is all tuckered out after an exciting day. Do you notice that he has the entire to bed to sleep in but he sleeps only in the corner curled up.

Crazy Kids

They were having so much fun running around and playing and giving each other piggy back rides. What started all the craziness was Olivia was trying to show her brothers what she learned at gymnastics. So they wanted to join in the fun.

Just for you Mom

While my mom was here we introduced her to Rock Band.

Wishing

I want a dishwasher that you don't have to wash the dishes before you put them in and then wash them again after it is done running. I want a dishwasher that you don't need to put in twice as much soap just hoping that it will get the dishes clean. I want a dishwasher that is not so loud when it running and doesn't sound possessed. I want a dishwasher that when running you don't have to yell to be heard. I want a dishwasher that actually dries your dishes. And while we are at I want a dishwasher that loads itself and unloads itself when it is finished. : )

Dinner at our house

This kind of shows a typical dinner at our house.
Garrett only wanting to eat bread

Olivia finishing her dinner

Devin making a huge mess and getting the food everywhere, eating out of the pan, and eating twice as much as the other two kids.

Dinner time at our house is always an adventure.

Who's the boss?

We had a little conversation about who in our family was the boss while waiting to get into the dinosaur museum. Notice who got the final word. :)

Devin's Birthday

Devin turned Two on the 21st of January. We had a small little party where he got to open presents. I ordered him an ice cream cake because I was a little caked out after Garret's birthday. He was so excited to open his presents. Which was slightly funny because at Christmas he didn't want to open any presents. But this time he kept opening the presents but when he opened them he would tear little tiny pieces off at a time. Then after each present he would say "more." Then when we sang him happy birthday he started to dance around. I wish I would have gotten it on video. But when I got out the video camera and tried to have him do it again he wouldn't do it. He is such a funny happy kid. We love him so much.

Once again a big Thank You for the gifts that everyone got him.
From:
Jennifer: A doodle pad
Grandma and Grandpa Brunner: 2 dollars
Grandma and Grandpa Doolittle: A big doodle pad and a toy cell phone
Garrett: A baby that makes noises (didn't know that when he picked it out.)
Olivia: Dinosuars
Mom and Dad: Cars, trucks and animal books
Rowena: Dinosaur
Emily: a croqueted blanket.

Our New Schedule

Jeremy and I are trying something new. We started doing this at the beginning of the month. We now get up at 5:30 in the morning each weekday and I ride my exercise bike and Jeremy turns on a conference talk from our church that we both listen to. So far we really like doing this. It is enjoyable to get up together and spend time with each other. Plus it is helping me to be better at exercising. So far we have only missed one day and that is because Devin was up all night that night throwing up and by five thirty neither one of us had the energy to get up. I am also trying to ride my bike at least 3 times a week at night. So for now this is our new schedule. We hope it lasts.

Surgery Scheduled

The surgery on my leg has been scheduled for March 29th to remove the tumor that is growing. The Dr. says after the surgery I will stay the night in the hospital and be on Crutches for 4 weeks. We scheduled it at this time so that I would take a week off work, then have a week off for Spring Break and then see how I am doing to see if I need more time off after that.
So that is what I am looking forward too. (Not Really)

Dinosaur Museum

We went to the Dinosaur Museum today. We did not have school and my mom was visiting so we thought that this would be a fun activity. Jenn met us there. We got there right when it opened hoping to beat the crowds but I think a lot of people had the same idea. The kids really liked playing in the wet sand and the dry sand. We usually only go here once a year but today I had a coupon for buy one get one free. So I only had to buy 3 tickets instead of 5 because Devin got in free too. I love 3 day weekends and coupons!

The Birthday Party

Garrett had a fun party. We had lego coloring pages, we played with rocket balloons, we played with Legos, ate cake, played with the parachute that Garrett got for his birthday, played the wii and opened presents. It was a fun birthday party. Garrett invited 5 little neighbor friends: Brennan, Aiden, William, Andrew and Landon. Plus we invited Kristi and her children, Andrew, Mandy, and Alex. We were so excited that they were able to come up. It was a fun party. I can't believe that Garrett is 6 now.

A big Thank you for all the gifts that everyone got Garrett. He is enjoying all of them.
From Krisit's Kids-Legos
From Landon-Paints and whoopie cushion
From Brennan and Aiden-A horse floor puzzle
From Grandma and Grandpa Brunner-6 dollars
From Grandma and Grandpa Doolittle-Legos mini figures and monster shoes
From Emily: A Blanket
From Andrew- a glowing ball
From William-Connect Four Game
From Jennifer-Cars that change color in water
From mom and Dad-Lego cars and a parachute
From Olivia-A Webkinz

I know we spoil him. But hey he only turns six once. And this is his first real birthday party with lots of friends.

Happy Birthday Garrett

Garrett recently discovered Legos. He loves them. So Garrett wanted a Lego Cake for his birthday. He wanted Lego pieces, a lego spaceship and M&Ms on his cake. So this is what he got. It was a fun cake to make and not too hard.

Why does it make me sad?

Yesterday while cleaning the house, I had boxes of Devin's clothes that he had outgrown. I have been holding on to these boxes of clothes for a long time. Well yesterday I packed them up and put them in the van along with the changing table and took them to DI. When I gave them to the guy at the DI store I felt really sad and could feel tears in my eyes. I almost changed my mind and took it all back home. I can't believe that my baby is almost 2. I am glad I have taken lots of pictures of him in all those little clothes to help me remember how little he used to be.
Jeremy has wanted me to get rid of these clothes for a while but I could never bring myself to do it. He reminded me as I was packing up the clothes that I would be giving them to someone else who needed them. I know that but it was still hard to want to give them up.

Not Even His Birthday

Jeremy got some new toys. He has wanted these things for along time. So we have been saving up to get them. He got a Droid Verizon Smart Phone which the Verizon version of the i-phone.

We also got a new TV. It is a pretty big one and the movies and the wii games look really nice on it.

I know it seems a little extravagant but hey we did save up for it and didn't go into debt getting it.

Funny Snow Comic

So sometimes I have a little extra time at work and found this comic. It made me laugh. Since we still have a lot of snow on the ground I thought that this was extra funny.

Hurt Feelings

I got my feelings hurt yesterday. Not only did I get my feelings hurt but I then felt like I was being attacked for the type of parent that I am. I shouldn't let what other people say bother me. I shouldn't get upset and cry. I shouldn't, but I do. Then I was starting to feel like I was a bad parent. Then to make matters worse I was feeling this way, I didn't put a onesie on Devin yesterday because they were all dirty. So soon after we get home he hit me so I put him in time out. When I went to let him out he didn't want to come so I left him there.
Five minutes later I went to check on him and once again he has played with the contents of his diaper. Then I lost it and cried some more. So I was feeling a little extra emotional. I called my husband who was working only five minutes away and he came and helped me clean up the mess but I was still upset and crying when he left.
But the reason I am writing this post is because at the point when I was feeling like a complete failure, One of my best friends calls me to chat and see how I am doing. I am so grateful that she called at just the moment that I needed her. I am thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me enough to have a friend call and reassure me when I needed it.

So a new goal this year: Try not to let what people say bother me!

Sick Day

Today was supposed to be the first day back from Christmas break. But Olivia woke up this morning not feeling well. She said that it was burning to to go to the bathroom. She has had this before. So I took the day off and took her to the doctor. She has a UTI. No Fun at ALL! Since she is allergic to penicillin and omixicillan she is limited to the which antibiotics that she can take. They gave her Baxtrum which is a sulfa-based drug. She has been on this before and it makes her really sick but we don't have a lot of other choices. So we got home from the doctor, ate lunch, she took her medicine and we started to watch a movie. But just like I told the Dr. now she really is not feeling well. Poor Kid. Hopefully the medicine starts working soon and hopefully the side effect of throwing up won't last long.

Christmas Dress

For Christmas, Santa brought the kids new church clothes. Here is Olivia's new dress. Isn't she pretty. I was trying out my new curling iron on her hair. I would love to get a picture of the boys in their clothes too but not nearly as easy.

NEW YEARS PARTY

We stayed home for News Years this year and we invited our neighbor and her family to come over and play games, eat treats and when it was Midnight we went out and lit sparklers. It was a fun night.

Good Thing he is Cute

The last couple of days Devin has been quite mischievous. Yesterday he painted his room with the contents of his diaper. This is a regular occurrence at our house. So we went out and bought onesies and zip up pajamas so it would be harder for him to reach his diaper.

But Today Just Today he has:
  1. Climbed on the stove and emptied the salt shaker all over the stove.
  2. Climbed into the sink in the kitchen turned on the water and gave himself a bath and then put the empty salt shaker into the garbage disposal.
  3. He refused to eat his lunch (I made French Toast) he was more interested in playing in the cinnamon sugar and syrup. A very sticky mess.
  4. He found a bottle of lotion emptied it out all over the carpet and himself downstairs.
  5. He took a really hard object and hit Garrett on the head with it. Now Garrett has a huge bump on his head.
  6. While we were cleaning up the lotion and getting him yet another pair of clothes he found a brown paint bottle and got all over his new pajamas and the floor. Because I wasn't aware of this yet I picked him and he got brown paint all over me.
  7. So he can get into the pantry and he likes to climb to the top of the pantry and sit up there we moved one of the protective door knobs to the pantry. So Now he can get into the garage. Apparently there are a lot of active 2 years in the neighborhood because when we went to 2 different stores to get more both stores were sold out.
  8. So today he is in 6th outfit.
At least he wasn't able to do any more "Creative" painting today.
Is it bedtime YET?
Good Thing he is Cute
