Turning 30!!!

Yesterday, I had a wonderful birthday. First of all I didn't have to go to work and I am not going back until March 29th. Second I have a very thoughtful husband who loves me and likes to spoil me. First he told me to check my e-mail. He sent me this picture.

On the bookshelf was a new book that he got me. He knows I am always looking for a good book to read.

Thoughout the day he sent me two new messages with picture clues. He got me a gift certicate to go and get a manicure and pedicure. He also got me a digital picture frame which I love and had already put a few pictures of our cute kids on it for me.

He also made me dinner (Chicken Parmigana) and then got me a cheesecake(my favorite) for desert.

My sister, Jennifer, got me some new clothes and my kids gave me lots of birthday hugs. Garrett kept asking what number I was and I told him 30 and he said, "I don't think so , I think 60!"

I also really appreciated all the phone calls. It truly was a nice day.

Wild Weekend

We thought we would take Devin to Walmart and get some portraits done. We scheduled an appointment for 10:30 and got there just in time. There was a family there still getting their pictures taken, so we just decided to wait. We waited an hour! These people had a 3 month-old baby and only wanted pictures where the baby was smiling. They wanted 7 different poses in three different outfits. It took forever! The Grandpa kept coming over to us, rolling his eyes and apologizing.
At 11:30, they were finally done. Of course, by that point, Devin was hungry. We tried a bit to take his picture, but he just cried and cried.
We ended up taking him out to the van so Robin could feed him and so we could give the other kids a snack.
When we went back in, we had to wait for another family to get their pictures done. We finally started taking Devin's pictures at 1pm. Devin cooperated pretty well and we think we got a good one--We only wanted one pose to begin with!
Then we met Jennifer for lunch at Chili's (Where Devin leaked out of his diaper) and afterwards, she took the Olivia and Garrett home.
Robin had to go to her school to get some things, she fed Devin again, and then we finally made it home around 4pm.
What was supposed to be a quick trip to Walmart for some pictures turned into a 5 and half hour ordeal. Robin and I were both pretty exhausted from trying to keep Devin happy all day.
The great thing was how well-behaved Olivia and Garrett were. They didn't complain once! They played and played the whole time.
The pictures should be done around March 13th, and we'll put one up here when we get them back.
Here are three pictures of the cute kids:

Devin's Day

Devin helped Robin take Olivia to school.
He tested out the couch.
Yep, the swing works, too. (Isn't he getting so BIG?)
"What's that light?"

This is for you, Emily

We just found out that Robin's sister Emily really likes David Hasselhoff. We couldn't understand why. I checked around the Internet and found the answer. See for yourself:

Devin's Growing

Devin had his two week check-up today. He's doing great! He's 21.5 inches long (That's an inch longer than at birth!) and we weighs 8 lbs 1 oz (That's 10 ounces more than at birth!). That puts him in the 90th percentile for height and 50th for weight and head circumference.

Want to see something funny?

We got this link from Robin's friend Kindra:

Interview update

A few weeks ago, my school district let me know that I had made it into the elementary school principal hiring pool. This afternoon, I had my second interview. I met with the three directors over k-6 schools and the assistant superintendent. I had worked with all of them in the past, and they all knew me.
I think the interview went pretty well. They told me that they are anticipating at least three openings in the district (I only knew of 1) and that there are 15 other people in the hiring pool. I guess my chances are pretty good.
They said they would let me know by the end of the week if I am still in the pool.

Grandma Violet

We finally got Robin's mom to sit down for a picture. It sure has been nice having family come to help out.

Will it ever end?

It seems like every other day we get a major snowstorm. The problem is: the snow doesn't melt between storms. We've probably got over a foot on the front lawn right now. Here are two pictures:

Double Sneeze!

I'm not really trying to make a bunch of movies of Devin sneezing, but when he sneezes, it's so cute we just have to share.
