Friday

Devin made buttons at school.  He picked some things I love to put on my buttons:  West Virginia, Baby Goats, and sunsets at the beach.  Such a thoughtful kid. 

These are the only tulips that came up and bloomed this year.  I know sad. I was looking forward to several tulips this year in my flower garden.   I think I need to dig them up and plant new ones. 

As I got up to exercise, I noticed that there was a beautiful sunrise.  I really love sunrises and sunsets. 

Andi decided to get up and do some of the exercises with me on Friday Morning. 
 

Garrett's Date Night

 For Garrett's Date night we went to Texas for Dinner and then we went to see a movie.  We actually went to the real theater.   It has been a long time since we have been to the theater.  The AF theater is the way to go, they have reclining chairs.  We saw The Courier.  It was a spy movie based on a real story about  the Cuban Missile Crisis. 

Baby Chick

Our neighbor had baby chicks.  She was only going to have them for a few days.  But she let us come over and hold her baby chick.  They are so cute and fluffy.   She said they only cost .50 cents.  So tempting to go and buy a few.  Too bad they turn into chickens. 

My workout partner

 

Andi asked if on Saturday she could get up and work out with me.  I woke her up on saturday and I played one of the kid selections from Beach Body, Called Grove it.  It was about 30 minutes long and she did the entire workout with me.  

Girl's Night

 Some teachers at my school and at a few nearby schools formed a book club.  We decided this time to do a paint night.  I invited Jenn to join us because she likes to paint and she likes to read.  It was a fun evening.  My friend, Rachel, who is also the PE teacher came too.  It was a fun evening. 

Tulip Festival

The tulip festival is one of my favorite things to do each year. I love tulips. There is just something about spring that brings hope.   I will probably go back before the festival is over. A lot of the flowers still needed to open. 

 

Over 100,000

 I was going to try to get a picture right when it turned 100,000 thousand miles.  We bought this van right before Andi was born seven years ago. 

We brought Andi home from the hospital in this van. It has taken us us to: Yellowstone, Lava Hot Springs in Idaho, Vegas, California, St. George,  Bryce Canyon, Zions National Park, Goblin Valley,  the Lava tubes,  Weber to drop off Olivia at school, Colorado to visit Kristi and several more places.  And it has safely gotten me too and from work safely.  We have had very few problems with this car.  We put racks on the top so it can transport kayaks.  It has taken us to the airport several times so we can go on trips.  2 Children have learned to drive in this car.  

It is fun to reminiscence about all the fun things we have done as family.   I wonder where this car will take us in the future.  

AF Canyon

 

There was still snow on the ground when we went up to the Canyon on Saturday.  Andi found another way to write love notes to us. 

Jere and I took Andi up the canyon, the boys wanted to stay home.   It was so nice to be up there.  We built a fire to just sit around it and enjoy being outside. 

There were two ducks that kept coming up and checking on us.  We did feed them a few of the rice cakes that we brought with us. 

Andi wanted a picture of her in the tree. 

I love you

 Andi is the sweetest.  She is always leaving us notes to tell us that she loves us.  She made this sign for us to take a picture to send to Olivia.  She misses her so much and loves her to pieces and even though she is far away she still making love notes for her.  

Devin's Surprise

Several years ago, Jenn painted Cars on Garrett's room's walls. Garrett moved downstairs and the room became Devin's. Devin has been asking to have his room repainted. Jenn decided that when we were gone on our trip that she would surprise him with a new painted room, a new bed, a desk.  

 

She did an amazing job! Devin was so surprised and so happy with his new room.   Jenn is so talented and thoughtful. 

Day 5: Flying Home

 As we were driving to the airport, I took a final picture of the bay as drove across the bridge. 

We had only a pretty amazing view of the ocean from the plane.   We were sad to leave this beautiful place.  We loved our trip.  We loved spending time together as a family and with my parents.   We made a lot of fun memories.   We got back late and went to bed.
