For Mother's Day Devin made me a memory jar at school which had small strips of paper with things for me to tell him about my childhood and for him to tell me about his so we could get to learn more about each other. I am going to write down all of our answers.
1. What did you at recess?
Devin: Play on the Monkey bars and try not to kick the person in front of him.
Robin: Played hopscotch, double dutch jump ropes, and basketball.
2. What was your school like?
Devin: It is Harvest Elementary and has over 900 students and 5 first grade classes.
Robin: Went to Hacker Valley. It had 100 students in grades K-8. There were two grades in every class.
3. What was your favorite field trip?
Robin: We went to Seneca Rocks and explored the caverns with the stalagmites and stalactites.
Devin: His favorite field trip was going to the Zoo in First grade to see all the cool animals. He really loved the elephants.
4. What is your favorite family vacation?
Devin: That place where we went to the hotel with the Hot Tub. (Zions National Park)
Robin: We took our pop-up camper and drove about 9 hours to Niagara Falls. We even went and saw the Canadian side. We went on a boat ride under the falls. They are so beautiful and fast. It was amazing to see.
5. What is your favorite T.V. Show?
Devin: Lego Ninjago
Robin: As a kid: Duck Tales as an Adult: Blue Bloods.
6. What is your favorite school lunch
Devin: I like the hamburgers with Ketchup. I like to put lots of ketchup.
Robin: When they did the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and rolls.
7. What was your favorite pet?
Devin: Jack, because he is the only pet I've had since I have been born.
Robin: My rabbit, Mittens, he was black with white paws and he loved to be petted and held.
8. Tell me about a time you broke a bone?
Devin: I was in WV and the big boys were climbing over the dog fence. I was small and I wanted to be a big boy and I climbed over and fell and broke my arm.
Robin: When I was little, I broke my arm. My brother and cousin was rolling me down a hill and then I braced myself so they couldn't do it anymore. They started jumping on my arm and they broke it.
9. Your full name and who were you named after?
Devin: Devin Robert Brunner-You named after Grandpa Doolittle
Robin: Robin Carol Doolittle-I was named after my Dad: Robert Carroll Doolittle Jr. who was named after his Dad Robert Carroll Doolittle Sr.
10. What was your favorite animal?
Robin: Was a hummingbird. I just to make hummingbird feeders with colored sugar water.
Devin: A dog because they are so playful.
11. What kind of books do you like to read?
Robin: Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Devin: Magic Tree House Books
12. Tell me a time you had to go to the principal's office:
Robin: There was a really mean boy who kept saying inappropriate things to me and I punched him and got sent to the office.
Devin: Garrett and were riding our scooters outside the school and we didn't get off and we got sent to the principal. Another time, in Kindergarten, Alex and I were talking about inappropriate things (squirt guns on little boys) and we got sent to the principal office.
13. What is your favorite book?
Devin: Aliens wear underpants
Robin: Little House on the Prairie when I was a kid, The False Prince Now.
14. What is your favorite outfit?
Robin: I always wanted to wear a dress to school when I was in 2nd grade.
Devin: A grey pants with orange stripe, with a gray shirt with orange sleeves that Garrett got me for my Birthday.
15: What Sport did your participate in?
Devin: Soccer, the only thing I have done.
Robin: Basketball
