Fillmore Lava Tubes

The next morning, Andi and I had breakfast at the hotel, and the kids had breakfast with Jenn at the campsite and then we went and explored the Lava Tubes. It took a really long time to get there and the roads were all dirt roads, with lots of pot holes, mud puddles. I thought we were going to get stuck or my car was going to break down with how often my van dragged. When we finally got there it was pretty to cool to climb and explore in the caves and tubes.  They each brought back a lava rock which looks pretty cool.   I don't know if we would go back just because the roads were so bad to get up there.

Fillmore Hot Springs

I  drove up Saturday to meet Jenn in Fillmore with Devin, Olivia, and Andi, to go to the Hot Springs. They were really nice and warm and a lot of fun to swim in.  We will need to come back again.   Then we went back to Jenn's campsite and had dinner. I was going to drive home but it was too late and I was too tired so I got a hotel and stayed in the hotel with Andi and Olivia and Devin camped with Jenn.   I think we will bring Jere and Garrett back another time.

Garrett's Scout Camping

Jeremy took Garrett on one of his Scout's campout. I think they had a pretty good time. They went on a short hike and on the way home they stopped at Vernon Reservoir and went fishing. Jere did come home with some kind of allergic reaction his eyes were all puffy and red.

Egg Hunt in the Back Yard

I bought plastic eggs and Garrett filled them with Candy. I think there were about 150 plastic eggs. Jere and I went and hid them in the back yard and we had an Easter Egg Hunt. Yes, we made the older kids participate and No they didn't complain because they knew they were getting a whole lot of candy.

Coloring Easter Eggs

We invited Jenn to come over to color eggs with us on Sunday. She brought 3 dozen eggs, and I boiled 2 dozen eggs! That is a lot of eggs. We  did the normal dying with the colors and then we tried something new.  We got shaving cream and added food coloring to give the eggs a marbled looks.  It was messy, fun, and smelled really good.

We made a huge mess.

We ate a lot of eggs and left over ham from dinner.  We had A LOT of  deviled eggs and egg salad.  I ended up giving half of my deviled eggs away to my visiting teacher when she came to visit and she was talking about not making them this year.

Easter Pictures

Before Church on Sunday, when they were all dressed up I took some pictures outside in the beautiful spring weather.  Don't they look cute and so grown up.

I love how much these two love each other!
