40th

I got a cheesecake for my birthday.

Then the kids got me a game calls Speak out, Where you wear these mouth pieces and try to say word and phrases and others have to guess what you are saying.  IT is funny and gross all at the same time.  And you have to be careful with certain words like spit.

After Dinner, Jere and I went out for the night and Jenn stayed with the kids.  On my actual birthday,  Jenn took me to see the Greatest Showman, go out to dinner, and get pedicures.  I had an awesome birthday with my family.

My Dad in his card said, "He was glad I reached another Milestone."
Jeremy said, "You are officially too old to die young."

Art Class Week 7

We had to do Gesture drawing of the human body. Gesture drawings are showing motion. We had to do twelve so I added just a few of them.

We then had to  draw a hand looking like it was grabbing something.
We then did our four sketches of our choice.   I did a hand, light house, china doll and a duck.

Alcatraz Escape Room

For Robin's 40th Birthday, I took her, Jennifer, and our neighbors (Ryan and Shannel Byrd) to JCW's and the Alcatraz escape room in Draper. We we put in a group with 5 other people and had to solve a bunch of Harry Potter themed puzzles. We made it out with 16 minutes to spare. The room was really well done and lots of fun.

Garrett's Teacher Ordination

Garrett got ordained as a teacher today. He's getting so grown up!

Art Class Week 6

Last week we did 4 still life poses. This week we had to pick one of the poses and make it bigger and add more detail.  I added the background window and clock and tried to show that it was sitting on my table.
Then we had to sketches of fabric that shows the folds.

Here are my 3 extra sketches of my choice.  Thank goodness for step by step drawings that I can follow and try to draw.

Trying on Prom Dresses

This is the one she picked.   It is gorgeous and she looks beautiful in it.

I took Livia and her friend Krissa to go and try on prom dresses. Prom is on March 10.  She wanted long, flowery, and one that would swish when she twirled.    She still needs to get a wrap or small shrug to cover her shoulders and back.

Valentine's Day

Ok, so these weren't for Valentine's Day, but Sam Delivered to Olivia on Monday to ask her to Prom.
Valentine's Morning I made paper heart sacks to fill with candy and a book for each kid and Jennifer.  Jeremy got the balloons and Olivia got the extra candy and put it around the table.  Andi was super excited about all the treats.

That evening we made heart pizzas and had a candle light dinner.

Livia decided with her friend Krissa that Andi and Krissa's brother Charlie who is also 4 should exchange valentines.  They got them all dressed up.    Livvy even did Andi's hair and makeup.  Krissa came over with Charlie and he brought her a rose and a teddy bear.  Andi got him some balls.

I love this picture!

Art Class Week 5

I had to do 2 worksheets showing the elements and principal of design.
This was a worksheet where we had to shade the same still life drawing in two different ways.
This one we had to to take 3 objects and make a still life drawing.   We were to draw them in 4 different ways and pick the one we like best.  I liked number 3 best.  I had to go to you tube and watch some examples on how to draw different objects and then I tried them in four different poses.
This was an assignment to draw ellipses. Once again I had went to you tube for help. Thank goodness for all of these videos to help me.  My teacher doesn't give very good instructions and rarely does videos.
Here are my extra sketches this week: Flowers, mushrooms, a cup and a cup.

Devin and Andi

This is Andi's new fashion sense:  Coat and pants pushed up to her knees like shorts.  Every time we put pants on her, she does this with her pants.  The sitter even told me that now her kids were their pants like that.  She is starting a fashion trend. :)
There was a book fair at school and Devin was so excited about the book fair.  Not because he wanted something for himself but that he wanted to get some Pete the Cat books for Andi.  She loves Pete the Cat books and videos.  It was so cute seeing Devin sit down with her and read the books to her.

Garrett's Solo night

Garrett had to get all dressed up and go to the school at 7:18 and perform a solo in front of judges for one of his grades. He looks really spiffy!  Do you notice his trombone tie.  He bought that tie with his Amazon Gift card from Grandma and Grandpa Brunner.  He is getting really good on his instrument.   He is pretty dedicated.  He practices without being asked, he wants to get better and he says he keeps on playing even when he gets to high school.  But he has no desire to be in the marching band.
