Carving Pumpkins

For family home evening we carved pumpkins for our activity.   The kids love doing this activity.  It was fun to have grandma here this year to do it with us.

Dash Day in the Gym

On Mondays, my principal has me working with the regular teachers to help integrate technology into their classrooms. I was working with 2nd grade on Monday using Map skills in their community. Jennifer and I took cheap white table cloths and made a map of Saratoga Springs. We printed "Buildings" that were in our community and folded them to make them look a little more 3d. Then we made task cards for the students to follow to use to navigate to different parts. They used the Dash Robots. Everyone had a great time. I was observed during this lesson and the assistant principal said it was amazing.

Olivia's 18th Birthday

Olivia is now and adult. She is 18. Where has the time gone. She is busy with school, going to MTEC to get a Medical Assistant Degree, and working part time. She is beautiful, smart, kind and talented. Glad I get to be her Mom. For her birthday we had several surprises for her. First, Jeremy and I worked with her friend Krissa to do a count down to her birthday. So starting on Oct 9 she got a small gift from friends or family every day up to her 18th birthday. Second, my mom flew in and surprised her for her birthday and met us at Texas Roadhouse. We were all a little teary eyed when Mom first surprised her. Third, We arranged a surprise Birthday party for her in the evening with her friend's Krissa's help again. I think she was truly surprised.  Then as another surprise they got to go a Disco Skating Night.  That is why she got a Wig for her birthday present.

Fall Break: Flaming Gorge

On Saturday, we drove to Flaming Gorge which is about an hour from Vernal where we were staying. We went fishing, hiking, picnicking, roasted hot dogs and s'mores. Once again a beautiful day at a beautiful place with good friends.  No fish were caught but we did get to see some big horn sheep.   I love fall break and spending quality time with the family outside enjoying this beautiful world.

The fish were teasing them.  They were right there, you could see them, but not a one would bite.

Andi fell in and got all wet. So she ran around in panties while we tried to dry her clothes.

The kids climbed any rock that they could.
