New Year's Eve

Jere and I stayed home with Andi and the boys for New Years Eve. We had games and movies planned for New Years Eve.   We had sparklers that the boys were excited to light off.

Livvy went to a New Year Eve Church Dance with some friends.  The dance didn't end until 12:30.

Novermber/DecemberSayings

Garrett has been teaching Andi new verses to the "Old McDonald" song. This morning we heard her sing, "E-I-E-I-Booty."

As I am trying to get Andi's coat on her she yells, "No, Run" and takes off running.

Yesterday I couldn't find my keys. It was way past time to take the boys to school. So I told them they just had to ride their scooters to school knowing they would be a little late. This morning
Mom: Were you late yesterday?
Garrett "Yes, about 15 minute late.
Devin: That's OK it is only less learning

Driving Practice

When the weather is cooperating I've been taking Olivia out driving. She is getting better!

Ice Skating

Livvy went Ice Skating with some friends and look who she ran into there: Kurt and Stephanie and their girls. Livvy was super excited to have this unplanned activity with her cousin.  Olivia has never ice skated before and she didn't fall once.

Kathleen and Olivia: These two cousins love each other so much and have so much fun together.

A New Car!

Jen's car couldn't handle all the starts and stops of her mail route and pretty much died. There was smoke coming out the engine and it wouldn't go into first gear any more. We all spent a few days trying to find another car for her, but couldn't find anything in her price range that had decent miles and she could take camping off-road. We decided to sell her my car (the Kia Sportage) and then I could just buy a new one. Robin and I looked online for a few days and then visited two dealerships we'd used in the past. After test driving a few, we got this used 2014 Kia Soul. We're getting a backup camera installed and with the money we got from Jen buying the Sportage, will have a pretty low monthly payment.

Mario Puzzle

Jeremy got a 550 piece Mario Kart Puzzle for Christmas.  The boys, Jeremy, and I worked on the puzzle and got the puzzle done in 1 day.

Sledding

While we were out yesterday, Livvy took the kids sledding. They wore their new snowsuits and boots and used their new sleds.   They loved it.  Livvy only took a picture of Andi on the sled.   She is super cute!

Too Cute

Andi now has a new sleeping pal!  As I am writing this, she is taking a nap with it in her crib!

From US

The older kids got new soft fuzzy blankets from us. Which they all love!
Andi, however, got a huge pillow pet!  At first she wasn't sure what to do with it.  But She figured it out pretty quick.  Ride on it, lay on it,  play on it.

The things that we were the most excited to give the kids.....
Were new computers!

Livvy and Garrett got new laptop computers.  Devin got a kindle fire.

I think they were totally shocked and surprised.    We may have splurged a little.  But both kids need a computer to do their school work now.  And we found them for a pretty good price!
We had a fabulous Christmas.  We got to Spend Christmas Eve with Kurt and Stephanie's Family.  We spent all day on Christmas Day as a family.    And Family is one of the most important things about Christmas.   We spent Christmas Eve singing carols and watching videos about the Birth of Christ...which is the most important thing about Christmas.   We are thankful for the gifts received, our family, and for the birth of Christ.

Presents from Emily, Thomas and Jennifer

Emily got them snowpants

Thomas got them Amazon gift cards, and other gifts likes pocket knives for the boys, nail polish for livvy and stuffed pig for Andi.  They were all pretty excited about this.

Jenn got the kids sleds.  She wrapped them in a fun way and the kids had fun unwrapping them.

Andi kept calling the sleds boats.  I think she was sad she didn't get one.  Jenn got her fish game.
Andi of course finds the smallest box and tries to sit in it!  Funny girl.

Presents from the Grandma and Grandpa Doolittle

So we had a system this year. We were going to open presents in order of who gave them so. We would open all of Grandma and Grandma and Grandapa Doolittles' presents, ones from Jenn, Emily, Thomas, etc. Here are the ones from Grandma and Grandpa Doolittle:
Andi was really excited to open her first couple of presents.  Grandma and Grandpa Doolittle got Andi some Magnets and blocks.

They got Devin: Lego people and a Spiderman watch.

Livvy got clothes from them, which made her super happy!

Garrett go an MP4 player.

Mom always finds these cool things to send to Jeremy
I loved the picture they sent.  I miss them so much.
Mom also made these letters for us.  They are great!  I am going to hang mine in my classroom!

White Christmas

We have had a lot of snow lately. So we had snow on the ground, but we probably got an additional 6-8 inches Christmas Day. After the presents were opened Jere went out and spent 2 hours clearing the sidewalks and driveway.  He is pretty happy that he has snowblower to help with the process.
