Baby Day 5
Today was great. My mom showed up and we kept the older kids plenty busy. I took them to Lowe's this morning to build toolboxes. Then, we went to Walmart. After my mom got here we went to a train show at Thanksgiving Point. They had some pretty neat setups. Devin seems to be putting on weight and sleeping a lot. We keep trying to have Robin get lots of rest too.

Day 4
Mom and Devin are still doing great. Devin likes to sleep all day and be awake all night. Robin let me sleep last night because I had a job interview today (By the way, I finally made it into the Alpine School District elementary principal hiring pool. I have another interview next month and then I just wait until they have a school for me). I'll be up tonight though!

It's time
It's 1:11 pm. Robin is in labor. She's dilated more than a 6. She just got her epidural and the baby is on its way. Mom and baby are both doing fine.

Update
First: Yes, Robin is still pregnant.
Now that we got that out of the way, I thought I'd share a bit of what's happened at our house.
It is bitter cold here in Utah. It still snows a bit every now and then, but it never melts. I took this picture through our kitchen window a few nights ago. Robin and I are going crazy because of all the inside recesses our schools have been having (anything below 20 degrees and we keep them in--it's been under 20 all week last week).

Also, Olivia decided that she wanted some slippers. She informed us that she simply forgot to ask for them for Christmas. We told her she could buy some with her own money and she and Garrett bought slippers yesterday. Aren't they cute?

And finally, a funny thing happened with Garrett at church today. I dropped him off in primary (this is only his 2nd week as a Sunbeam) and went over expectations. I reminded him to stay in his seat and to not run away. I reminded him that he would have to go to another class after sharing time. I had him show me how to sit reverently. The last thing I told him was to raise his hand if the speaker asks a question. Well, I went to pick him up from his class at the end of primary and the teacher hands me a little slip. She tells me that Garrett has to give the talk in sharing time next week. I looked at her kind of odd because I didn't think that they asked Sunbeams to do that on their 2nd week in there. She must have read my mind because the next thing she says is, "They asked if anyone wanted to give a talk and Garrett raised his hand."

Interview Update
The interview went pretty well today. Besides for getting there an hour early (I must have understood her wrong when we spoke on the phone), it went smoothly. I wrote 20 minutes about professional development communities and then had a 20 minute interview. The nice the about the interview was that I felt like I had answers for all the questions. When I interviewed 2 years ago, I remember making up some of the answers on the spot because I really didn't have enough experience.
And now the fun part: Waiting until March to see if they will call me back for a follow-up interview.

Lucky Day #2
So the other day Garrett found our digital camera and took a bunch of pictures. He inadvertently broke part of the front off and so the lens doesn't open right and it turns itself off sometimes because it thinks you closed the lens cover. We have also been pretty frustrated with it at times because it seems like once you push the button to take a picture, it waits 1-2 seconds before taking it.
So today we decided we would look for a new digital camera at Walmart. It turned out to be quite an adventure. First, we had trouble finding one that we liked. We finally decided on one we wanted and asked the sales guy to get one out for us. It was $200, but it seemed pretty nice. Well, they were all out of those. I jokingly asked if we could get a better camera at the $200 price. He said no, but that there were a bunch of cameras on clearance we could look at. So we looked at those and found one for $160 that we liked. There was only one of them, but when we looked in the box the battery charger cord was missing.
So then we looked at another camera. It was listed for $220 but was on sale for $170. We thought that it would be a nice one so we decided to get it. When we went to pay for it, it rang up for $90! We almost bought 2! Here's a picture:

It's a Nikon Coolpix S51. It's gotten pretty good reviews, so we'll see. Hopefully you'll notice the pictures on the blog look better.

Exciting news
I just found out that I have been selected for an interview this Friday to be an elementary principal in our school district. It's at 7:15 in the morning. I'm really excited! I'll let you know how it goes!

Magic Tricks
Garrett came up to me and showed me how he could make his train disappear by putting it in a Walmart bag. He kept showing me so I turned on my laptop's camera and started recording. He thought I was using a program that snaps pictures instead of recording a movie so you can hear him keep saying, "Take a picture, Dad." I don't know where he got the idea to play dead, but we keep rewatching it and laughing. Olivia wanted in on the fun too. Her trick is actually pretty good. Enjoy!

Garrett's Little Birthday
We started off by getting Garrett a haircut. Here is a before shot:

and and after shot:

You can see in that last picture the new freezer in the back of the van. Yes, it is just a chest freezer, but we like it already. The kids especially like the box:

We invited Taylor, Landen, and William (three good neighbor friends) to meet us at Lowe's and build wooden trucks. (We had invited everyone back to our house afterwards for games, pizza, and cake, but due to the fact that Olivia and Robin were sick all day yesterday, we canceled that part. Olivia was feeling better so she came to Lowes but Robin stayed home.) I think the kids all had fun.

Hopefully by Tuesday, Garrett's actual birthday, everyone will be feeling better and we'll do the cake and presents thing.

Lucky Day
We bought new couches from RC Willy. I looked in the RC Willy Ad a couple of days ago and there was a picture of the same couch we bought on sale for a cheaper price than we paid for it. The sales guy said that the price was guaranteed for 30 days. I called RC Willey and they are going to give us money back to make up for the price difference. We got about enough money back to buy a freezer. We have been wanting a freezer for a while so we were really excited.
I am so glad that I decided to look through the ad. It was our lucky day.

Our Loving Kids
The kids having been bugging me for weeks to let them record another song. They've done a few short little ditties, but this time they wanted to make a song to share with family. We might have been able to spend a little more time on it, but recording songs with a 3 year-old really isn't very easy. You should be able to download this and play it on your computers.

Want a New Name?
So, Robin and I are still debating over names for the new baby. We've got it narrowed down, but every now and then we go online and look at websites to find ideas. I went to one called babynames.com and they had a "Random Name Generator" you could use. The results were so awful it was funny and we thought we'd share it with you
