Jeremy's Job
We were a little worried about Jeremy's job for the next year. We were told about 2 months ago that he would no longer be at Harvest. We were wondering what was going to happen. Would he put back in the classroom, would he be assigned a different school, would he just be told you no longer have a job?
About a week ago we found out that he will still a job as an assistant principal. He will be 1/2 time at Harvest Elementary the school is at now and 1/2 at Cedar Ridge Elementary which is about 35-40 minutes away from Harvest. It isn't an ideal situation but at least he still has a job and he isn't getting a pay cut. We don't know how this work yet but we hope it will work out well.

Being Healthy
Jeremy and I decided that we needed to be more healthy by eating better and exercising more. We came up with some rules for ourselves.
1. Exercise 5 days a week for 30 minutes
2. Drink at least 8 glasses of water
3. Eat smaller portions (I am doing Weight Watchers)
4. Eat dessert only once a week
5. No food after 7 p.m.
6. Eat healthy snacks like fruit, pretzels, carrots
7. Eat out once a month.
This past week was our first week doing this. We started on Sunday. We did pretty good. We went on several walks. We ate fruit for breakfast. I avoided the temptation of muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls that showed up at house all on the same day. (Well almost I took one small bite of the cinnamon rolls. It was so good.)
So I weighed myself again today and I lost 5 pounds this week. Yeah!!!
We are trying to decide a prize to work for we can reward ourselves when we meet our goals.

Geodes
I thought I would post the pictures of the geodes I dug up on Monday. We spent about 4 hours digging in some holes out in the west desert. You have to find a layer of white clay and dig until you find something hard. I quickly found 3 big geodes, but my friends found a tons of medium and small ones. The small ones tend to be prettier, but the big ones were sure... big.

It's a two hour drive from my house (an hour and a half of that is on dirt road).
By the way, the Dugway Geode Beds can be found at N 39° 53.660 W 113° 08.242.

Legacy Center
We took the kids to the Legacy Center today. It is the last day with the cousins. They all had a really good time. Josh pretty much stayed with Olivia. He adores her. Click on the link to see some pictures.
Legacy Center Pool
We went to have a lunch at Cafe Robin's and had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and put Devin down for a nap. Then Jeremy got his marble run out for the older kids to play with
Then we went out to Cafe Rio again for an early dinner with Jenn. Later tonight we will make milkshakes and let the kids play with glow sticks. We will probably have another movie on the projector and one last sleep over before the cousins fly home tomorrow morning. It has been a great visit.

Today's Adventures
We started the day with snow and rain. Yep snow and rain. So we went to the library for storytime, then we went to McDonalds for lunch and the kids play on indoor play toy. Afterward we went to see the Movie "Monsters and Aliens" and of course we went out for ice cream after the movies. Since then we have came home and chilled and let the kids play. Then the the UPS guy arrived and brought the package we were expecting. Inside were four kits to make Kaleidoscopes. The kids got to each make their own kaleidoscopes. They think they are really cool. So do I. Just one more day with the cousins. We will be sad to see them go home. We will miss them.

American Fork Canyon
Yesterday Emily and I took the kids to Cabellas and then we took them up to American Fork Canyon for a picnic. While up there we went to Tibble Reservoir. It was such a pretty day and the kids loved just playing outside. Afterward we went to Cold Stone for an ice cream treat. It was a fun day. Too bad the weather didn't stay nice for today. It is so beautiful up in the canyon. Plus there was still snow on the ground. We are having a blast with my sister and my nephews. Jeremy went to Dugway out in the middle of the nowhere to dig geodes. He will be posting some pictures about that later.

EASTER DAY
We waited until Jeremy got home from his meeting to have the kids get their Easter Baskets. They were really starting to wonder if they would get one or not. Then that sneaky bunny left picture clues all over the house for the kids to follow. When Olivia and Garrett found their final clue Olivia found her basket and was leaning over her new bike to get to the basket without even noticing it but when Jeremy asked her what she was leaning on she was so excited. Devin got a blue bouncy ball in his basket. Balls are his favorite thing.

Later on in the day we went up to the school and let the kids have an Easter Egg Hunt. There were about 100 eggs for the 5 kids. Devin found 2 and then he was happy to just carry those two around. Then when the hunt was done we let them play on the playground. The weather was so nice yesterday.

They had a lot of fun just playing on the playground afterward.

Then we came home and ate a yummy turkey dinner. Then after dinner we went to the school to fly kites.

What you do not want to see when you check your bank account

So, I was checking our bank accounts this morning, as I often do, and discovered something odd. Apparently some idiot in Australia used my credit card to rack up over $3,800 worth of spending yesterday. He spent about $50 on pizza, $500 on computer accessories, and $3,200 on a nice shiny new Apple computer. What a great way to start the day!
I immediately called the credit card company and had the card stopped. Then I called the bank to dispute the charges. The bank informed me that $600 worth of purchases had already been attempted since the time I stopped the card. They turned the charges over to the fraud department and will send us new cards. We should be alright.
The fun part was what I did next. One of the charges was for a Domino's pizza in Epping, Australia. Well, I emailed the police department in Epping and gave them all the information I had. Then I emailed Domino's Australia headquarters and asked them to look into it. I also emailed the computer accessory company and told them to cancel their order.
But, the most fulfilling thing of all was calling Apple. I spoke with the customer service rep on the phone, gave him the credit card number, and had him cancel the order. I didn't know you could even do that! As scary as it was seeing all that money disappear this morning, it feels good knowing that the jerk in Australia won't be getting a computer, and that maybe, just maybe, the police will come knocking on his door.
I seriously doubt I'll ever hear back from any of those people I emailed, but I'll let you know if I do.

Budding Photographer
Garrett has developed an interest in the camera. He is always taking the camera and wants to take pictures of some things, people, toys, messes. Here is some of his handy work. He has gotten a few good shots. I really like the one he took of me holding Devin. And he will only pose for a picture if it is his idea for someone to take it of him like the last picture. Thank goodness for digital cameras.
