Soccer
Olivia really loves playing soccer! She played in the fall and she really wanted to play again in the spring. We signed her up again for the city recreation team. One of her best friends is also on the team. She has a really good coach this season who know a lot about soccer. He used to play and has coached high school soccer. They have practices a couple times a week and a weekly game. She usually plays a defensive position and she is really good at it. On Saturday's game, the coach had her playing offense for part of the game. And She SCORED! It was her first goal scored ever in a game! Her friend picked her up and hugged her and she was screaming in excitement. I really wish I would have taken my camera and captured the moment.

Raz-kids
Our district got Raz-Kids for the students K-3. I asked a teacher at my school if she would add Devin to her class so he could read it at home. She was willing to do that for me. There is also a free I-pad app if you have an account on Raz-Kids. Garrett has an account from his school and he loves reading the stories on the iPad.
Devin loves to be read to. His favorite book right now is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" Before we read it every night we go through the letters that are listed at the front. He knows most of his letters.
He also like to be able to read along to the parts that he knows. That is why I love Raz-Kids. They have books on every level. So I have Devin on a level A. You can choose to read the book yourself, listen to the book, or have the computer record you reading the book. to the book.
So this is Devin reading the book. I know he adds extra words but it is just so cute to listen to him read.

Hope of America
Olivia participated in Hope of America last night. She has been working on learning the songs for awhile. She has really enjoyed it. And the the songs are really patriotic. She in in the top right at the beginning of the yellow in the top. There were 2500 fifth graders wearing red, white, blue or yellow to make the flag.
I enjoyed the show and the music.
What I didn't enjoy was our car breaking down right as we go to the Marriott Center. We stopped at Wendy's to get dinner. Then the window wouldn't roll up, then the clock stopped working, then the blinker wouldn't work. Jere was putting his foot to the floor with the gas pedal and we were going 5 miles per hour. We got to a parking lot but there were no available parking spots so Jere had no choice but to park it in the a no parking zone. As soon as it was parked the car died and wouldn't start again. We had to call a tow truck and have it towed. Jenn was with us so she called Chema to see if he would be able to help us out and pick up after the show. He picked us up and took us home. We didn't get home until after 10.
Today we are a car short! So I had to have a friend of mine who works for me to come and pick me up. Jenn is going to come over after work and drive me back to Provo to a Mechanic shop if the car gets fixed. I hope it doesn't cost too much or we are going to have to get a new car. We were hoping to wait on a new car until after Jere's car is paid off but we will have to wait and see.
We got the car back on Wednesday. It needed a new alternator. It cost $512 dollars and it is now guaranteed for life with this mechanic shop.

Coloring on the wall
We tried to make a movie using a green screen. When we were done we told them to decorate the wall. It hung in our living room for about a week. The kids and Jennifer all loved coloring on wall without getting in trouble.

Spring Break Day 6-Provo River
Our final day of Spring Break, we met Jennifer and her crew and we went canoeing on the Provo River.
The mouth of the river that joins Utah Lake.
I was proud of Garrett, he didn't panic or scream and he did just what we had talked about when we were talking about boat safety: he was wearing a life jacket, stayed calm, and got his way to shore quickly.

Spring Break Day 5-Neptune Park and Rockets
What better place to launch rockets then at Neptune Park. We got the park at 8:30 in the morning which is a perfect time because the park is not busy. Each of the kids had a rocket and they got to push the button to launch it and then they got to run and try to find their rocket in the field. Luckily all rockets were retrieved safely.
We just happened to be there the same time as the fire department training. So if anything would have caught fire we would have been covered.
3,2,1 Blast Off.
It is so exciting when it finally launches!

Spring Break Day 2: Antelope Island
We have lived in Utah for a long time and have never been to see the Great Salt Lake. Now we can say we have been to the Great Salt Lake.
Lots of buffalo.
Buffalo near the water.
Close up to the buffalo. Glad they seemed pretty tame and none of them charged.
We went to the water to play in the sand and fly kites.
