Wearing Underwear
Yesterday was the first day that Garrett wore underwear all day long with no accidents. He has been staying dry in the pull-ups so we decided to try underwear. We were really proud of him. He does well at home but when he is at the sitters he refuses to go to the bathroom. So he may wear a pull up to the sitters and then when we get home put him back in underwear. I don't know this is all so hard. But we are slowly making progress.

Garrett's Speech Testing
I took Garrett into my school today to get his speech tested. The speech and language pathologist at my school did the testing. First she just let him play with toys and tell her what he was playing with. Then she had a list of words and she would say the word and then tell him to say the word. She said that he was doing pretty well and had a good vocabulary. She said that he needs work on blends, mutli-syllable words, w sounds and ending of words. She gave me some flashcards to help him and then said she would give more words each week. This week it was sp words. She said next week it would be st words. Then in a 6 weeks bring him in and she will test him again to see if he makes any progress. If he does then he is developing. If not then we could get him in to see her on a regular basis. She said she would run what we did in the computer and then we would see what his actual classification for speech would be. So for now we will start working on the sp words.

Deer Meat
A friend of mine has a husband who loves to go hunting. I guess he got a couple of deer. She gave me some of the ground up deer meat. I used some of it tonight making dinner. I put it in Chile for Taco Salad. It smelled really good. It also looked like it had less grease then hamburger meat. The Chili tasted really good. The only problem the grease that it did have stuck to the pan. I used one of my teflon pans and it did stick. It was hard to wash it out.
My question is what else can you use this type of meat for and do just substitute it or do you have to add something else to it.

The Big Birthday Boy
Here are the pictures from Garrett's birthday. We had a fun little party. Garrett sure had fun. If you ask him now how old he is he'll say 5, 6, or 8. We made car cakes for the party. Robin made the cakes and decorated the little cars and Jennifer decorated the bigger cake with the blue car from the Cars movie.
He's doing pretty well with his potty training. He wears pull-ups during the day and a diaper at night. He has filled up two sticker charts already. He still won't go without being reminded and he has decided that he can change his own poopie diapers--he can't, but he has fun getting it everywhere while he tries.
We're both ready for a long break and bummed out that we don't get one for a long time.

Celebrations Begin
Garrett's 3rd B-day is on Monday the 15th. We made cookies Thursday night to take to the sitters house on Friday for a birthday treat since he won't be there on Monday since it a holiday and there is no school. He was excited to help make the cookies and give them to his friends. The sitter also gave him a small present that he couldn't wait to tear into. Of course I let him open it early. Tomorrow we are having a little party with one of our neigbors.

Art Class
As most of you know Olivia loves art. She loves to color, paint, tape, glue, cut, etc. Also as most of you know I am not an artistic person. I have been looking for a class for Olivia to take. Last year I had her in dance. In the mail a couple of days ago I got flyer about an art class that was being offered. It was about 10 mintues from our house. So I called them and got the information today and they said that class was today. So I drove her down there and she started today. She was so excited. She even paid a little bit of her own money. Garrett wanted to stay too but he was too young. I think this will be a great opportunity for her to show her creativity.
