15th Anniversary

To Celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, Jere and I decided that we wanted to do something special, something memorable. So we decided to go on a hot air balloon ride over Park City. It was fun, fantastic, magnificent,  breath-taking, exciting, awe-inspiring, and yes, definitely memorable.
They used two big fans to inflate the balloon.

And a little fire!

In the basket, getting ready for take off.

These two balloons were taking off right after us.

I love the shadows! Our balloon is the one that is just a little higher.

I thought that the sunglasses and smiley face was really cool.  The dirt bike trails look really amazing.

There was some kind of balloon festival going on because there were tons of balloon out today.  We counted at least 10 while we were in the air.

We went down pretty low and were pretty close to these neighborhoods. We were trying to find a place to land and the wind kept pushing us in different directions.

We finally were able to land in a parking lot and this guy had to pull us in.

The balloon deflating.

Afterward they gave a celebratory toast.  Because we are now official "Balloon-a-tics"

Old Balloon Story: When the first started flying balloons in France in 1793 people didn't know what they were so when they went to land, they were often met with angry mobs of people carrying torches and pitchforks. So to appease the farmers they started carrying wine to give to people when they landed and that is why they a celebratory toast today. Though he had Sparkling Apple Cider for non-drinkers.

Balloon Jokes: Where does a balloon land?
