Visiting Santa

I took Andi and her friend, Brooklyn, to go and visit Santa.  They were both excited.  Guess what Andi wanted... Another Unicorn.  She may be slightly obsessed.

Gingerbread Houses

I bought Gingerbread house kits to make with the kids.  It was fun to make them.  Only one made it to standing without collasping right away and 1 lasted until the next day.  Oh well no one was going to eat them anyway.

Saying Goodbye to My Pappy

My pappy died this morning around 9 am.  I am sad that he is gone, I will miss him.  I also know that he is no longer in pain or suffering and that he can be with my sweet Granny again.  Pappy was 93 years old.   I also am very grateful that I got to spend time with him over Thanksgiving. 

Garrett did a report about him when he was in the 5th grade.  Here is his report:

I will always remember going to see my Pappy in the summers when we were little and we would get to spend a week with them.  He would have us help him in the garden, pick green beans and then we would help string them and snap them so that they could be canned.  Then at night he would "sneak" downstairs where we were sleeping and bring us what we called his Famous Milkshakes: Chocolate with milk with scoops of ice cream in it.

I remember on my wedding day he was there.  Later I was showing him my wedding album and he replaced the picture of me and jeremy to the one of me  and him to the front of the album.

One summer after, I graduated college we went to Spencer to visit him.  He had us help pick beans in the garden and then he gave us some money for graduating college.  He was so proud of me going to college and graduating.

Frozen 2

They give the teacher a free movie each year with their families.  We went and saw Frozen 2.  I saw it with my mom in West Virginia.  But I saw it again with my Kids.  Andi loved it.  She came out singing the song of the Mountain from the movie.  It is fun sitting next to her in the theater and listening to her excitement about the movie.   Kurt and Stephanie and there kids were sitting behind us.

Visiting my Family in WV

Jenn and I flew out to West Virginia to visit our family.  We especially wanted to see Pappy, who is 93 and not doing very well.  He has been living with my parents and they have been taking care of him.  He needs a lot of help.  While we were there he went to the hospital with Pneumonia.  He was moved to the hospice house soon after we left. 

Jenn and I were trying to help my parents out and we would take turns getting up with him at night.  One of the nights I was helping him with his pillow and getting him a drink and we had a tender moment where I told him I loved him and he told me that he loved me too. 

I will cherish that I got to visit him and my parents. 

Thanksgiving at Denny's

Robin was in West Virginia, Olivia was at Quinn's, and we already had turkey on Sunday. So what do we do on Thanksgiving? Go to Denny's, of course! We actually like the Denny's in Saratoga Springs.

Being with my sisters

I went out with my sisters to hear Jay play.  We had a fun time together. We each even got out and danced with a elderly gentleman sitting near us.  I love hanging out with my sisters. I love them both so much.

Early Thanksgivigng Dinner

Early Thanksgiving dinner.  Since I was going to be out of town, I cooked a small thanksgiving Dinner for the family. Quinn and Jenn joined us.  I didn't have hardly any leftovers.   I was glad I got to celebrate with them before I left on my trip.

Putting Up the Christmas Tree

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, we put up the tree.  Actually, Quinn and Olivia put up the tree.  All the kids decorated and put up all their own ornaments.  We put it up Early this year because I was going back to West Virginia to visit my parents and pappy.   They love looking at the ornaments that they get each year.  It is actually one of my favorite traditions that we get them an ornament each year that has their picture.  We also make ornaments with them.

Date Night at Scheels.

For Garrett's Date night, he wanted to go to Schells and ride the Ferris Wheel.  He wanted to take Andi with us on his date night.  They had a fun time riding the Ferris Wheel.

Dance Performance 1

Andi had her first dance performance.  She loves dancing, loves getting dressed up, loves going to a fancy dinner afterward, and loves being in the class with her friend Olivia.

Morning Walks

I have been trying to get up at 5:30 each morning and go walking.  I love the quiet of the morning and seeing the moon and the stars.  I don't like the cold so much.  I also enjoying walking with my friend, Michelle.
