Portland day 1: Silver Falls State Park

We took a 3 day get away with Andi to Portland.  It so so beautiful there.  It had so many trees, waterfalls, scenic drives.  We saw humongous sequoia trees, red douglas trees, and redwood trees.  We drove about 2 hours to get to. this state park and saw 2 amazing waterfalls. 

 

Jeremy's Birthday

We went and had a cookout at Livvy's pool for Jere's birthday! 
 

Devin's New Job

 Devin works in the Bakery at Smiths.  I think he really likes it. 

Provo Falls

After dropping Andi off at camp, we went to Provo Falls.  It was about a 40 minute drive but it was nice.  When we got there, there was only a few other people and we could just sit and enjoy the falls.  It was too cold and windy up the mountain to play in the water but we sure enjoyed being there and hearing the waterfalls.  There are 3 falls at this place and they are all beautiful. 

 

We had planned to go to Provo Falls the day before but our brakes on our car were making horrible noises and we decided to get them checked out before going up the mountain.  Our front brakes and rotors needed to be replaced.  So we spent the day without a car.  We Uber-ed back to our hotel, and then walked around park city again and found a place to have lunch.  Then our hotel had a shuttle that took us back to the car place and to the diabetic camp to pick up Andi.  It was an adventure. 

Rockport State Park

Jere and I went to Rockport after dropping Andi off at camp.  We were the only 2 people at the beach area.  We left our stuff went and picked up Andi and took her back to the lake.  It was the perfect day.  We were able to get in and enjoy the water.

Bloods lake

While Andi was at Diabetic camp, Jere and I went hiking to Bloods lake.  It was a nice trail that was shady and pretty easy.  Well it was easy until we noticed hikers hiking up the side of a rock.  We were thinking surely that is not our trail.  But it was!  We got to the bottom of the big rock that you had to use stairs to climb straight up. We went nope, and turned around.  We wish we could have saw the lake but we didn't want to climb that rock.  

When we picked up Andi, we took her out to eat at Davanza's which is a pizza place.  They had the entire place decorated with beer cans from floor to ceiling.

Diabetic Camp

We signed Andi up for Diabetic camp.  It was a day camp and we dropped her off at 8:30 and picked her up at 3:30.  It was a 5 day camp. She was in a group with other 11 and 12 year olds.  They had medical staff to help with diabetic needs, the counselors all had experience with diabetes.  It was a great experience for her to be around other diabetics and to do some really fun things. 

She got to do a ropes course, paint a real horse, archery, go to the lake for paddle boarding, pickle ball, arts and crafts, water games and skits.  She had an amazing time and wants to go back next year. 

 We got a hotel nearby and stayed there so we could get her to camp and then Jere and I spent time doing things in and around Park City.   She also met a girl at our hotel at the pool who was at the camp but not in her group who lives 5 min. from us.  Her mom and I exchanged numbers to arrange for them to hang out.

Jeremy and I rode the bus to Macey's to get ice cream.

 

Reading Glasses

 I had started noticing how hard it was to read things on my phone or when I was working on my computer.  I went and got my eyes checked and I definitely need reading glasses.   So I bought myself 5 pairs that I  keep in different places.  It is hard to get to used to them because they help with reading but if you look up then everything is blurry.  But I can definitely see better when I use them to read. 

Picnic at Nates

We did a Brunner Family get together, with Nate and Betsy and some of Jeremy's cousins.  I only got these 2 pictures of Andi and Jeremy lounging in Nate's pool. 

 

Splash Summit

On our get out pass,  we spent the day at Splash Summit.  Livvy and I stayed in the lazy river, frog pond or wave pool.  The boys and Andi went on a lot of the slides.  It is always a fun day at the pool.
