In Vegas Again

Our flight was into Vegas so we got to spend another day with Grandma and Grandpa Brunner and their cousins. Cynthia and Isabella were at Girls Camp. Olivia enjoyed playing with Hannah.

The other kids playing ipads.
We left Thursday morning for Utah and got home around 5 in the afternoon.  The kids were excited to go and play with all their friends.

Airport

After a month in WV, having lots of fun, playing with cousins,  being with Grandma and Grandpa it was time to go home.  We already miss everyone and look forward to our next visit.

Blaze

Blaze is my Mom's new puppy.  Devin loved him.  He wanted to constantly hold him, carry him around, chase him, torment him. He is a cute little dog.

Visiting Pappy

We drove to Spencer which is about 2 hours from my parents' house to visit Pappy. So glad that we did. We had a really good visit.  Pappy turned 86 this past June.  He says he has 14 more years.  I sure hope so.

S'mores Please

Who doesn't love a good S'more with melted chocolate with a gooey marshmallow that was roasted over the fire. We had s'mores probably 6 times while we were back there.

Playing

This is a game called Corn Hole.  They toss bean bags and try to get them in the hole.   The adults were playing this at the Fourth of July Picnic.

Grandma with all her grandkids.

Playing Cards

Playing Legos

Eating
Garrett for his scout book had to make something useful.  He decided to make a sword and shield with Grandpa.  That is very useful to an 8 year old boy. : )
Eating Yogurt at Sweet Frogs.

"Helping" making Brownies

Playing with swords.

Summersville Lake

This is the lake where we can swim. It is an hour away from my parent's and it only cost $1 per adult to swim. When the weather was nice we would pack picnics and spend the day at the lake. The weather wasn't very cooperative but we did get a few good days in at the lake. When the weather didn't cooperate we would go to the movies. We saw all the kids movies this summer: Brave, Madagascar, Ice Age, Yogi Bear, and  Despicable Me. We didn't let the weather interfere with our fun.

Helping Grandpa Garden

My dad plants a big garden every year. Another one of Garrett's scout things was to help with gardening. So once again my Dad stepped in and showed him and the other kids how to do things. The kids loved it. They loved finding things growing, they didn't mind picking weeds, or hanging the strings. Plus for helping, Grandpa would pay them 50 cents so they could go to the vending machine at his office and get a snack.

Dad let Devin cut the string to tie to the stakes for the beans.  Later he said to Grandpa, "Let's go and cut the rope in the field."

Playing in the rocks near the garden.
Since the electric was out we had a generator running and the kids liked helping getting that started too.

Couldn't resist : )
Mom made several loaves of zucchini bread.  We would have fried squash for dinner.   The day we left she made a zucchini crisp.  So good.
