Bear World

 Bear World is a fun stopping place halfway to Yellowstone, where you are guaranteed to see a Bear.  We saw lots of bears and even six very playful baby cubs.  They also have some fun rides that you can go on while you are there. 

Garrett's High School Graduation

 Garrett Graduated from Westlake Highschool on May 25th.  He graduated with hones and he is going to finish MTech next year.  We are so proud of him.

25 Years of Marriage

 Robin and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary today. It's a crazy time of year and so we just went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then visited Hidden Falls at Thanksgiving Point.

And then went to Avenue Bakery and got gluten-free desserts!

Hermana Siete

Hermana Sieta, Olivia's companion for over half of her mission.  She had her farewell today and she lives about 30 minutes from us so we went to support her.  It was so nice to meet her. 

Andi's Dance Recital

 Andi loves to dance.  She had her spring recital this weekend and she did an amazing job.

Garrett's Awards

 Garrett got recognized for getting some scholarships at SUU and Snow college.  He isn't going to either of those colleges but it was nice to be recognized for all of his hard work. 

He had his final concert and at the CTE Awards Night got recognized for completed the Media and Broadcasting, Web Development, and Automated Manufacturing pathways.

 

Mother's Day

Devin got me some beautiful roses.

Garrett got me a gluten-free angel food cake and an angel food cake mix.   It was so good. 

They also got me a pool to set up to us for the summer.

Garrett's Appendicitis

On May 4th, Garrett was complaining about having an upset stomach again. He was concerned because he had had a bad stomachache a few weeks before that actually led to him throwing up. 

I thought he perhaps had a hernia so I took him to InstaCare. The doctor did some poking around and said that he thought Garrett had appendicitis. He said the only way to know for sure was to go to the ER and get lab work and a CT scan.

We decided to take the doctor's advice, but first we stopped at home to grab some overnight things. We checked into the ER and a few hours later we get the test results: Acute Appendicitis. Fortunately, there was an anesthesiologist there and so they could get him into surgery right away. 

The surgery took longer than they said it would and when the doctor came out they said that his appendix had already burst! His recovery went really well and they actually sent him home a day earlier than they said they would.
